The House
Maison means house. A publishing house used to be exactly that: a name over a door, a seal pressed into every book, and a promise that whatever came out of that house was made with care.
Maison Seajay is a small house in Gaspé, Québec, built on that old idea. Every book carries the seal on its back cover and the house mark on its front and spine, so you can tell where it came from at a glance.
The little house in the seal has its window set low and to the right. It’s on purpose, and it’s on every book we make.
What the House Standard means
Researched against the best
Before a book is made, the best-selling books in its category are studied, and ours has to do more than they do.
Made to be kept
Sturdy formats, generous pages and real care in the details, so the book is worth keeping when it’s done.
Made in Gaspé, Québec
Every book comes out of a small house in Gaspé, at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula.
